Sandstone quarries and limestone deposits were visited by the management of AzerGold CJSC and State Agency for the Use of Mineral Resources

On 15 March 2025, Zakir Ibrahimov, Chairman of the Executive Board of AzerGold CJSC and Samir Idayatov, Chairman of the State Agency for the Use of Mineral Resources under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, visited Garadagh region to inspect some sandstone quarries and limestone deposits.

During the meeting, aimed at implementing the obligations arising from the Order of President Ilham Aliyev, on improving management of non-ferrous mineral deposits utilization, dated 23 December 2024,  the current situation in the production areas and deposits were studied, the opinions and proposals of entrepreneurs were discussed.

The meetings were attended by authorized representatives of local executive powers, and a representative of the prestigious international Boston Consulting Group Company, involved in the process by AzerGold CJSC.

The meetings covered a wide exchange of views on irrelevant exploitation documents, illegal extraction, non-compliance with the requirements of the legislation on labour protection, recultivation, waste disposal, and other observed problems and ways to solve them.

During the meetings, the initiatives of entrepreneurs were also considered and registered for further investigations.

The preparation of proposals based on the results of intensive research, field trips, surveys and analyses conducted by AzerGold CJSC by involving international consulting company since the beginning of 2025, serves to boost efficiency and transparency in this sphere, update control mechanisms, by applying innovative technologies organize operations based on local legislation and international environmental requirements, by simplifying relevant procedures ensure more favourable conditions for entrepreneurs, and adapt local production to the challenges of the world market.
