AzerGold holds meeting with farmers and beekeepers in Dashkasan

AzerGold’s Corporate Social Responsibility Committee held meetings with local residents in Dashkasan on March 30-31.
With the view of identifying social needs of residents living in Gushchu and Chovdar villages, which are located adjacent to Company’s Chovdar Integrated Regional Processing area, Khayyam Farzaliyev, Chairman of Committee and Deputy Chairman of Executive Board of AzerGold, enlightened the participants about the actions and improvements implemented in the social field. He emphasized the importance of the ongoing projects carried out within the priorities of local residents and communities. Deputy Chairman noted that the actions taken under Social Impact and Responsibility Policy not only support state programs, but also serve to provide care to the inhabitants of this region.
Then, the Committee members heard the appeals of the villagers and exchanged views on new initiatives. The chairman of the committee voiced instructions and recommendations towards taking appropriate steps. In addition, representatives of CSR Committee conducted surveys for a comprehensive study of social needs.
Notably, the Company will continue to hold regular meetings and surveys in the framework of initiatives and projects aimed at target groups.
The next meeting was held with the beekeepers from Bayan, Gushchu and Zayam villages of Dashkasan. Meeting aimed to bring together rural beekeepers to enlighten them about the existing opportunities and "Support Beekeepers" project launched by AzerGold CJSC with the support of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency, to identify how to benefit from the project. In the course of the event, the participants discussed the difficulties faced by farmers during beekeeping activities and ways to overcome them, exchanged views on initiatives and proposals.
The project entails organization of raise awareness trainings in the following areas, such as methodological assistance to farmers by experts, work in apiaries in accordance with veterinary and sanitary rules, treatment and prevention of bee diseases, application of innovations in this field. Those who join such trainings will be presented bee families and relevant equipment. Besides, nectar-producing trees and shrubs will be planted in the area under the Project.
