The Chovdar Integrated Regional Processing Area Celebrated International Labor Protection Day

AzerGold Closed Joint-Stock Company’s (CJSC) Chovdar Integrated Regional Processing Area (CIRPA) located in the Dashkasan region held an event dedicated to April 28th – the World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

The event on the topic, ‘The Impact of Climate Change on Occupational Safety and Health’ was attended by representatives of AzerGold CJSC and the State Labor Inspection Service under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, and employees of contractors operating at CIRPA.

At the event, detailed information was provided on the work performed by the Joint-Stock Company to ensure occupational safety and safe and healthy working conditions for employees, and protect the environment. It was noted that as a result of preventive measures implemented at workplaces, particularly in industrial facilities, AzerGold CJSC has successfully avoided occupational accidents and diseases and ensured occupational safety over the entire period of its activity. Safe working hours at AzerGold CJSC have exceeded 5 million, which is considered a high indicator for a company operating in the mining sector.

As part of the event, letters of thanks were presented to the employees of AzerGold CJSC and contractors for their contributions to ensuring occupational health and safety and environmental protection at CIRPA.

Then, the guests had the opportunity to get acquainted with CIRPA’s activity and expressed their satisfaction with the favorable working conditions, occupational health and safety, and environmental protection initiatives implemented at the facility.

It should be recalled that the World Day for Safety and Health at Work was established in 2003 by one of the specialized agencies of the UN, the International Labor Organization. Azerbaijan also celebrates annually this special day established in connection with labor protection.

Ensuring decent, safe, and healthy work conditions for employees is one of the main directions of state policy in our country. As part of measures implemented according to the national law adopted based on progressive international norms and standards, systematic activity is performed in this regard at AzerGold CJSC's enterprises and subsidiaries, including regular training in labor rights and occupational safety for employees.
