World Civil Defence Day was celebrated in Dashkasan by AzerGold CJSC

On March 1 – World Civil Defence Day –  an  event entitled Civil Defence is the Guarantee of Security for the Population was organized at Chovdar Integrated Regional Processing Area of ​​AzerGold CJSC.

The event, which aimed at planning, timely and efficiently implementing civil defence actions, and reducing risks in this sphere, was interactive and included theory and practice.

The event was preceded by a meeting of representatives of the Dashkasan Region Executive Power, Ganja Regional Centre of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ganja Regional Fire Control Department of the State Fire Control Service, Dashkasan Regional Fire Protection Department of the State Fire Protection Service, and Dashkasan Branch of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society.

Khayyam Farzaliyev, Member of the Executive Board – Deputy Chairman of AzerGold CJSC, Chairman of the Emergency Situations Commission of AzerGold, informed the participants about the systematically implemented events to increase the awareness of employees on civil defence, to control and further improve readiness for emergency situations.

Mr Farzaliyev emphasized that ensuring safety during the production process and considering the human factor as the main aspect are essential principles of AzerGold.

He noted that training sessions have been periodically organized with the support of relevant state agencies, and awareness of employees on civil defence has been ensured within preventive measures against fire and other emergency situations.

Consequently, production activities have been organized without any accidents and  safe man-hours have reached six million.

The meeting proceeded in a discussion format and at the end personal protection  equipment, fire protection and other technical safety equipment for civil defence of the employees were showcased.

Later, training was provided on technical safety rules in fire- and emergency rescue operations in mountainous areas, and a simulation of fire extinguishing and evacuation plans in a complex terrain was organized.

The civil defence measures taken by AzerGold CJSC were highly appreciated by the representatives of relevant organizations participating in the event.
