AzerGold initiates exploration works in Kalbajar field

AzerGold Closed Joint Stock Company has started preliminary prospecting and exploration work at Tutkhun field located in Kalbajar district. Thus, an assessment and remote research are carried out at the initial stage. Alongside with hyperspectral imagery by satellite, preliminary assessment work is being carried out to collect, classify, digitize archived geological materials. From April next year, it is planned to conduct large-scale exploration work.

Notably, Tutkhun deposit is located in the territory of Kalbajar district, on the basin of the Tutkhun river, the right tributary of the Tartarchay. Presumably, this area is replete with gold, silver and copper reserves. The site was explored in 1958.”
