Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan took view of AzerGold’s activity in Dashkasan

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Azerbaijan Junichi Wada made a site visit to Dashkasan district with the aim to view the activities of AzerGold CJSC.
First, the visitors made a visual check to the territory of the Dashkasan iron ore deposit. The Japanese diplomat was enlightened about geological exploration work at the largest complex of iron ore deposits in the district.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of AzerGold Khayyam Farzaliyev informed the ambassador that the existing resources were re-evaluated in line with international standards to develop a scoping study regarding the commissioning of the field, and these activities will be completed by September 2021. Deputy Chairman also noted that, the re-exploitation of the field and the organization of the production process in accordance with world standards will make a significant contribution to the sustainable social development of the region, as well as to the economy of the republic.
Furthermore, the Japanese ambassador visited Chovdar Ore Processing Area. While inspecting the production process and the working conditions at the mine, the diplomat witnessed all stages of production in a virtual mode. After that, the ambassador got acquainted with the process of blasting and making metal alloys in the mining area.
Besides, Junichi Wada was informed in detail about the export of precious metals and the company's contribution to the Azerbaijani economy.
The ambassador expressed gratitude for the opportunity to get acquainted with the activities of AzerGold CJSC. He also added that this visit was extremely useful in terms of assessing the economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan.
