Documentary made in the memory of Mukhtar Gasimli presented to the audience

The presentation of documentary made by general sponsorship of “AzerGold” Closed Joint Stock Company, dedicated to Mukhtar Gasimly, the martyr of the Patriotic War, the champion of Azerbaijan in bodybuilding was held in the Nizami movie center.

The event, attended by state and government officials, culture and art figures, war veterans, mothers of martyrs and other public representatives, was opened with the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Later, the dear memory of all the martyrs who died for the independence and territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence.

At the ceremonial part of the event the martyr’s father, the producer of the film Ali Gasimov and mother, the artistic director of the film Almaz Gasimova, Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis Adil Aliyev, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov and Chairman of the Executive Board of "AzerGold" JSC Zakir Ibrahimov delivered speeches. It was told that the 44-day Patriotic War, which resulted in the glorious victory of the brave Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of the victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, was written in golden letters in our military history. The 30-year occupation of our lands was ended as a result of Mr. President's determination, high leadership skills, and the struggle and sacrifice of the heroic sons of the motherland. Notably, one of such heroes who wrote history in Karabakh is Mukhtar Gasimli, a martyr who was distinguished with his bravery in the heavy military operations for Fuzuli.

Mukhtar, who joined the war as a reserve officer of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces, began his battle path in Fuzuli, where the enemy's barrier defense was breached, and ended in Alkhanli village. On October 2, 2020, the senior lieutenant of our Armed Forces, Mukhtar Gasimli, fought heroically and rose to the peak of martyrdom. Remarkably, like all our martyrs who died for the independence and territorial integrity of our country, Mukhtar's life is a remarkable display of courage for our youth. In this sense, the documentary film "Hero Mukhtar Gasimli", which tells the story of Mukhtar's heroism, aims to introduce our martyr to the public, to contribute to the upbringing of the new generation in the spirit of bravery, courage and high patriotism.

Upon the ceremonial part, the documentary film "Hero Mukhtar Gasimli" directed and scripted by Ruslan Mollayev was screened. In the film, not only the battle path of the martyr Mukhtar Gasimli, but also all the pages of his life, his childhood, school years, successes in sport, work life were turned over and formed the plot of the film.

Notably, upon the relevant orders of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev, Mukhtar Gasimli, who worked for "AzerGold" CJSC, was awarded the medals of "For the Motherland" and "For the Liberation of Fuzuli" after his death for his courage and bravery during combat tasks conducted for the liberation of Azerbaijani territories from occupation.
