Mining Review Africa published article on Ortakend project of AzerGold CJSC

The Mining Review Africa – famous in the mining sector of the Republic of South Africa – published online article on the Ortakend gold mine project of AzerGold CJSC at miningreview.com. 

The article, authored by Alasgar Mammadov, Head of the Geographical Information Systems Section of the Geological Exploration Department of AzerGold CJSC, deals with software solutions offering advanced tools for exploration, geological modeling, resource assessment, mine design and optimization in the geological study of the Ortakend gold deposit. This deposit was discovered by the geologists of AzerGold CJSC during geological explorations in Julfa region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in 2018. The Ortakend gold deposit is the first gold deposit to be put into operation in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The deposit’s underground gold reserve is estimated at 542 000 ounces. Today, geological and economical assessment of the discovered gold reserves, efficient extraction and processing technology, and evaluation of extractable and saleable metal amount are being considered.

The commissioning of the deposit will significantly activate the economy of the region by contributing to social development and employment.
