MEXT Technological Center and Koçdigital visit Chovdar mine

The delegation of MEXT Technological Center and "KoçDigital" company, representing the Union of Metal Industries of Turkey, visited Chovdar Integrated Regional Processing Area (CIRPA) of "AzerGold" Closed Joint Stock Company (JSC) located in Dashkasan district. The site visit was made on the initiative of the Analysis and Coordination Center of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4SIM) under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The purpose of the visit was to investigate the potential for the automation of production processes in "Chovdar" gold mine, explore best practices in  the technologies and expand business relations.

The parties exchanged ideas towards improving the digital database on geotechnical monitoring, drilling and central process control at the meeting held in the administrative building of CIRPA. At the meeting, the mechanism of the effects on quality, cost and efficiency and optimization of the production process through digitization was discussed. In order to automate and digitalize the activities of the joint-stock company with the application of innovative solutions and modern technologies, an agreement was reached on the development of proposals within the framework of future cooperation perspectives.

Later, the visitors became acquainted with the production of oxide ores in the sulfide phase at Chovdar mine, ore management processes in the storage facility, existing material and technical base of the Company, as well as the available conditions in the factory and laboratory.

            Remarkably, within the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between 4SIM under the Ministry of Economy and the Union of Metal Industry of Turkey, new directions of cooperation, such as the promotion of digital literacy in the production sector of Azerbaijan, assessment based on the Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI) in Azerbaijan, and organization of mutual visits to the production areas, establishment of smart production processes, etc. have been determined. In this context, the delegation of "AzerGold" JSC and 4 SIM visited "Öksut" gold mine located in Kayseri, Turkey, and got acquainted with the engineering and technical capabilities and general activities of the "KoçDigital" company in May.
