On June 5 – World Environment Day, AzerGold CJSC and Regional Development Public Union (RDPU) organized a training session and clean-up campaign in Dashkasan under the slogan Caring for Nature is Our Mission!
Employees of AzerGold CJSC and RDPU volunteers participated in the event, aimed to promote environmental protection, proper waste management, and public awareness in this sphere.
The campaign commenced with an educational training session on the environmental impact of pollution with plastic materials along the Goshgarchay River in Gushchu village of Dashkasan – one of the largest water basins in Ganja-Dashkasan economic region. The training session provided presentations focused on preventing environmental pollution and emphasized the importance of recycling for the protection of nature and the maintenance of ecological balance.
Following the training session, approximately two hectares of forest area along the banks of Goshgarchay River were cleaned of plastic, polyethylene, metal, glass, paper, cardboard, and other waste materials. The collected waste was sorted out for recycling. In addition, the main streets of Dashkasan city were provided with new waste containers.
Note that environmental issues are on the focus of attention of AzerGold CJSC as a state-owned company representing the country’s mining industry. The Company regularly organizes environmental projects in various regions, while conducting extraction and production processes in compliance with national and international standards. Annual tree-planting, greening, and clean-up campaigns are held at the initiative of the Company.
