On September 29, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee of AzerGold Closed Joint Stock Company (CJSC) held a regular meeting with residents. The meeting arranged in the administrative building of CJSC’s subsidiary Dashkasan Iron Ore LLC was attended by residents of the region’s Zaghali, Khoshbulag, Alunitdagh, and Yukhari Dashkasan villages, as well as Dashkasan city citizens.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Board of AzerGold CJSC, Chairman of the CSR Committee Khayyam Farzaliyev informed of the projects being implemented as part of the priorities of work with the local population and communities in the Dashkasan region, where the Joint Stock Company performs active mining and production activity. It was noted that the mobile medical examination campaigns recently arranged in Dashkasan, the sports playgrounds, the school building, and the measures on improving the population's drinking water supply are intended to contribute to the state social programs and serve the region’s residents with comprehensive attention and care.
It was reported that as a result of AzerGold CJSC’s activity, the residents of the villages located near the mining areas regularly benefit from the projects implemented in the fields of environmental protection, education, healthcare, employment, promotion of entrepreneurship, sports, etc.
Speaking about the measures implemented by the Joint-Stock Company to improve employment in the Dashkasan region, the Chairman of the Committee stated that residents, especially members of the martyr and veteran families, are given priority in recruitment to the available vacancies according to the staff schedule, and the employment of citizens is fully transparent and based on the candidates’ e-applications and test exams. It has been noted that the Joint Stock Company’s long-term contractors also give preference to residents during recruitment. In this regard, it was stressed that most of the employees of CJSC’s Chovdar Integrated Regional Processing Area and Dashkasan iron ore field, as well as contractor companies, are residents.
It was mentioned that to meet the staff demands related to implementing the JSC’s strategic projects with residents in the coming years, for already the third year, the Ganja State Vocational Education Center for Industry and Technologies jointly with the State Vocational Education Agency is implementing the Scholarship Program project for students studying specialties related to the mining industry. It was also noted that the Scholarship Program contest has been arranged for students studying mining engineering, geology, and metallurgy in the higher educational institutions operating in our country, and measures have been taken to hire the winners of both projects to the appropriate vacancies after graduation. It was also stressed that AzerGold CJSC has started implementing the Miner of the Future project. It was noted that the project is aimed at supporting the attraction of 10th-grade students registered in the Dashkasan region to the preparatory courses and their further enrollment to higher educational institutions to the mining-related specialties.
Then, citizens' appeals were heard, opinions were exchanged on new initiatives, and a survey was performed among residents. The issues raised by the meeting participants were registered for reviewing and resolution according to the law.
It should be noted that AzerGold JSC will continue to arrange traditional meetings and surveys among the region’s population as part of initiatives and projects aimed at target groups.
