AzerGold holds series of events dedicated to Remembrance Day of Patriotic War

AzerGold Closed Joint Stock Company held Remembrance Day dedicated to Patriotic War at Chovdar Ore Processing Area in Dashkasan.

Prior to the event, the visits were organized in Baku and Ganja to the graves of heroic staff members of AzerGold Muktar Gasimli, Rauf Asgarov, and other heroes  who stood up for the dignity and freedom of Motherland and became martyrs during Patriotic war. The visitors paid tribute to the eternal memory of the martyrs and laid flowers on their graves.

At the event, the dear memory of the martyrs who lost their lives for the territorial integrity and independence of our country was commemorated with a minute's silence. Then, Zakir Ibrahimov, the Chairman of the Executive Board made speech and emphasized that the historical victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War with the direct leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev and the valiant Azerbaijani army is of special importance from the point of public and nation’s benefit. Placing an emphasis on the unity and strength of the Azerbaijani people, its leader, and our glorious army which was successfully demonstrated to the whole world during the Patriotic War, the Chairman noted that the victory was achieved by virtue of the development policy, the existing medium, the unity of people and government, the improvement of political relations to a positive level, our international reputation and army-building in our country.

Reminding that the care of martyrs' families and veterans is one of the priority areas of the state, Zakir Ibrahimov highlighted the social protection programs and actions which have been successfully implemented in a consistent manner. Zakir Ibrahimov pointed out that currently 44 veterans of II Karabakh, 10 veterans of I Karabakh war, 1 war-disabled and 10 members from the families of martyrs are working for the Company.

            Meydanali Yolchiyev, Chairman of Dashkasan district branch of the New Azerbaijan Party, took the floor. He placed emphasis on the deep respect shown by the state to the family members of our fighters, veterans and soldiers who died in the Patriotic War, and brought into focus the great work carried out towards the treatment and rehabilitation of our wounded veterans, and the solution of the social and household problems of the families of the martyrs. He noted that important steps are being taken in this direction.

The family members of the martyrs, who spoke at the event, expressed deep gratitude to the President Ilham Aliyev for the attention and care shown to them. Martyr Mukhtar Gasimli's father, Ali Gasimov, said that he is proud of his son and that our nation has gained a hero in the person of Mukhtar. He highly appreciated the steps taken by the state to preserve the memory of Mukhtar.

Rauf Asgarov’s mother, Brilliant Asgarova reminded the bravery shown by the senior lieutenant in the liberation of a number of villages as well as  Mardinli village of Fizuli where he was martyred on October 26, 2020. Then family members of the martyrs shared their memories about Mukhtar and Rauf with the participants.

In the continuation of the event, Eldeniz Valiyev and Sadi Abbasov, the employees of "AzerGold" CJSC, who participated in the Patriotic War, talked about the battle path they went through and shared their impressions.

Within the framework of the event, the employees of the Closed Joint Stock Company also visited the houses of martyrs' families living in Dashkasan district. During such visits, the dear memories of our heroic martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the prosperity of future generations, were commemorated. Within the social action, financial aid and food parcels were presented to the families of the martyrs on behalf of the Company.
