AzerGold and Regional Development Public Union take joint environmental action

"AzerGold" Closed Joint Stock Company (CJSC) and "Regional Development" Public Union (RDPU) jointly held an environmental action and training under the "Save the nature, say no to plastic waste!" slogan dedicated to June 5 - World Environment Protection Day.

Within the framework of the action, the staff members together with the volunteers of PU carried out cleaning works in the part of Goshgarchay, which is one of the largest water basins of the Ganja-Dashkasan economic region, running through the village of Gushchu, Dashkasan district.

The participants of the action cleaned approximately 2 hectares of forest area along the banks of the river from plastic, polyethylene, metal, glass, paper, cardboard and other kinds of waste. The disposal was sorted and directed to recycling.

Thus, the action was aimed to clean the shores of Goshgarchay from waste and enlighten the community about the damage caused by household waste to the bioresources of the water basin. In this regard, the experts of AzerGold and PU held an environmental awareness training. Within the framework of the training, the participants were delivered the presentations towards promoting recycling, preventing environmental pollution, contributing to the protection of nature and maintaining the ecological balance.

Notably, the World Environment Day, established in 1972 by the General Assembly of the United Nations in order to focus the attention of the world population on environmental problems, is dedicated to the topic "Solutions to plastic pollution". On the eve of this significant day, "AzerGold" CJSC, with the support of "Regional Development" Public Union and other partner institutions, implements joint events to contribute to the protection of the environment and biological diversity every year.
