National cinema screening held in Dashkesan, organized by AzerGold CJSC and Baku Media Center

On 2 August – Azerbaijani Cinema Day - an open-air national cinema screening was held for the first time in the Dashkesan region. The event was jointly organized by AzerGold CJSC and Baku Media Center, with the support of the Dashkesan District Executive Authority.

As part of the event, the feature film "Taghiyev: Oil", produced by Baku Media Center, was screened. The event attracted significant public interest, offering residents the opportunity to watch one of the most acclaimed and technically advanced productions of contemporary Azerbaijani cinema.

Produced in the historical biographical drama genre, "Taghiyev: Oil" is the first installment of a four-part film series dedicated to the life and legacy of the renowned philanthropist and entrepreneur Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev. The film's general producer is Arzu Aliyeva, while Zaur Gasimli served as director. The film artistically portrays Taghiyev's contribution to the oil industry, his entrepreneurial journey, and his enduring role in Azerbaijan's national development.

It is worth noting that "Taghiyev: Oil" has been selected as Azerbaijan's official submission for the 98th Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category.

The screening took place in a specially constructed open-air cinema at the Youth Training and Recreation Center in Khoshbulag village, Dashkesan district, where more than 600 residents and guests gathered to watch the film. The audience welcomed the screening with great enthusiasm.

Initiatives such as this, which promote Azerbaijan's rich cinematic heritage and bring nationally acclaimed films to audiences in the regions, make a valuable contribution to enriching the cultural life of the communities where AzerGold CJSC operates. They also help preserve and promote national and cultural values, encourage wider public engagement in cultural activities, and provide residents across the country with greater access to contemporary Azerbaijani cinema, fostering social cohesion and cultural appreciation.
