AzerGold organizes visit of martyrs’ families to Shusha

AzerGold CJSC organized a visit to Shusha for members of martyrs’ families as part of the “Following the Path of Victory” social project, dedicated to the sixth anniversary of the Patriotic War. The initiative was supported by the Goygol District Executive Power and the Shusha City State Reserve.

Members of martyrs’ families residing in Goygol District took part in the visit, which was aimed at providing them with moral support, commemorating with respect the heroic path of their loved ones, and introducing them to the historical and cultural heritage of Shusha, a symbol of Azerbaijan’s Victory.

The visit began with a tour of the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque, one of Shusha’s prominent religious and architectural landmarks. The participants paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Azerbaijan’s territories and offered prayers for their souls.

The participants were subsequently informed about the large-scale restoration and reconstruction works being carried out in Shusha, as well as the city’s rich historical and cultural heritage. The programme included visits to Jidir Duzu, the bullet-scarred busts of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Bulbul and Khurshidbanu Natavan, the remains of Natavan’s estate and its restored fountain, Isa bulaghi (fountain), and other historical and cultural sites.

During the tour, the participants were also briefed on the battles for Shusha during the Patriotic War, the courage and sacrifice demonstrated by Azerbaijani servicemen, and the historical significance of the Victory.

Supporting martyrs’ families and war veterans remains one of the priority areas of AzerGold CJSC’s corporate social responsibility activities. The company implements regular initiatives aimed at supporting the social well-being of these groups, expanding employment opportunities and contributing to their professional development.

Currently, 334 members of martyrs’ families and war veterans are employed by AzerGold CJSC, its subsidiaries and long-term contractor companies. Members of these groups also benefit from the company’s education, vocational training and social support initiatives.
