AzerGold’s scholarship contest winners were awarded

On February 27, AzerGold CJSC hosted the awarding ceremony of the winners of the 4th Scholarship Contest among students at universities and vocational schools, and the presentation of the textbook Mining Topography.
The event was attended by Zakir Ibrahimov, Chairman of the Executive Board of AzerGold CJSC, Kenan Karimzade, Deputy Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Karamov, Director of the State Agency for Vocational Education, and university rectors and students.
In his opening remarks, Zakir Ibrahimov congratulated the winners of the Scholarship programme and wished them success in their education and future careers.
Mr Ibrahimov gave detailed information about the scholarship programmes, which have been implemented since 2021 on the basis of the Company’s development strategy for providing the necessary human resources when needed. He noted that the project, which covers students studying industry and mining, is aimed at increasing interest in education and developing the potential skills and knowledge of talented students in practice.
Z.Ibrahimov mentioned that a total of 38 students of universities and 37 students of vocational schools have been awarded a scholarship within the project, and involved in practical training period at AzerGold, and supported by the Company to start their professional careers after graduation based on the need for qualified personnel.
Kenan Karimzade, Deputy Minister, considered such scholarship programmes as an important contribution to the education of students and improvement of their knowledge and skills, and emphasized that these initiatives implemented by state and private business entities within their Corporate Social Responsibility, including AzerGold CJSC, serve the goals for the development of national education, set by our President.
The Deputy Minister congratulated the scholarship winners and recommended them to make the most of their practical training period during the programme and take advantage of all the opportunities provided for them to become professionals.
Later, Jeyhun Karamov, Director of the State Agency for Vocational Education, provided information about the textbook Mining Topography and emphasized that it has been translated and published from Turkish into Azerbaijani on the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and with the support of AzerGold CJSC. He noted that this book serves to train vocational school students on modern topographic measurement and calculation types and methods in the mining sphere. And also added that the book, printed in 200 copies, was provided to the vocational schools in Dashkasan and Gadabay – the main mining regions of our country, as well as in Ganja city.
The winners of the Scholarship Programme were presented certificates and gifts at the end of the ceremony.
It should be noted that for the academic year of 2024-2025, ten university students studying at Geology, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Ecology faculties, and two students from vocational schools, became the winners of the AzerGold scholarship. A monthly scholarship has already been provided to each student to support their social welfare within the project.
Based on the needs of AzerGold for qualified personnel, it is planned to support the participant students in starting their professional careers after graduation within the project.
