AzerGold staff commemorates the victims of Khojaly genocide

“AzerGold” Closed Joint Stock Company jointly with İndependence Museum of Azerbaijan commemorated 30th anniversary of Khojaly genocide.

The staff of the joint-stock company first got acquainted with the exhibits, photos and archival documents reflecting the important events in the historical-cultural, socio-political life of the Azerbaijani people from ancient to modern times, and life stories of the martyrs fighting for the freedom of our territory. They also visited an art exhibition of Khanlar Ahmadov, the people’s artist. Participants were informed in detail about the exhibition "Punishment of Crime” (Cinayətin cəzası) dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the genocide.

The participants commemorated the victims of the tragedy and spoke about the tragic and terrible facts of the Khojaly genocide committed with inconceivable cruelty. It was stressed out that the real intention of the Khojaly massacre, which is considered one of the bloodiest crimes against humanity in the history of mankind, was to throw scare into our people, to prevent the struggle for sovereignty and territorial integrity and to seize our lands by force. However, during the 44-day Patriotic War the glorious Azerbaijani Army led by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, took revenge on the battlefield for all our martyrs, especially Khojaly victims, who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and independence of our country.

At the end of the event, "I am devastated”, a documentary film about the bloody events of 1992 was presented.
