AzerGold CJSC’s Employee Wins Prestigious Chevening Scholarship

Ilgar Hashimov, Head of the Reporting Sector of the Finance Department at AzerGold CJSC, has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship funded by the UK Government. Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, he will pursue a master’s degree in Financial Economics at the University of Warwick, one of the UK’s leading higher education institutions.

Ilgar Hashimov completed his bachelor’s degree in World Economy at Baku Engineering University from 2012 to 2017. He has been working at AzerGold CJSC since 2023.

It should be noted that this year, more than 100,000 candidates from countries around the world applied for the Chevening Scholarship programme. Following a highly competitive selection process, only 700 candidates worldwide were awarded Chevening Scholarships, including just 3 candidates from Azerbaijan.

Established in 1983, Chevening is one of the UK Government’s most prestigious global scholarship programmes. It provides young professionals distinguished by their academic achievements, professional experience, and leadership potential with the opportunity to pursue master’s degrees at leading universities around the world.
