Meeting with delegation from Frontier Works Organization of Pakistan at AzerGold CJSC

On February 25, Zakir Ibrahimov, Chairman of the Executive Board of AzerGold CJSC, received the delegation led by Abdul Sami, Director General of the Frontier Works Organization of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who was visiting our country within the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Business Forum.

During the meeting, which aimed at discussing the opportunities for joint cooperation in the fields of mining and geology and the prospects for joint projects, Zakir Ibrahimov noted the friendly and close relations between our countries and nations, and also highlighted the endeavours by Mr Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Mr Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, for strengthening these relations of strategic importance.

Mr Ibrahimov gave detailed information about the achievements of AzerGold CJSC, its strategic plans and development of the mining sector, as well as about environmental protection measures, about the transition to innovations and technologies that meet high environmental standards, and emphasized that the strategic plans of the Company include realization of mining projects outside the country borders. In this regard, Mr Chairman expressed his confidence that establishing collaboration with Frontier Works Organization for the study, research, exploration and exploitation of mineral deposits will be mutually beneficial.

Abdul Sami, Director General of the Frontier Works Organization, noted that the state-owned Organization is specialized in road construction work, mining industry, energy, defense infrastructure and other engineering projects in Pakistan. He added that they are interested in establishing and developing collaborative relations with AzerGold CJSC for the implementation of joint geological exploration and mining projects in both Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on discussing specific fields of collaboration between AzerGold CJSC and Frontier Works Organization, on preparing and signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement for exchange of mining information, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding for collaboration.

Mr Abdul Sami also invited AzerGold CJSC to participate in the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum to be held in April this year.

Mr Zakir Ibrahimov expressed his gratitude for the invitation and emphasized the importance of mutual visits in terms of establishing and strengthening collaborative relations between the organizations.

The meeting ended with an exchange of gifts.
