AzerGold CJSC, which aims to contribute to the development of the national mining industry, supports the implementation of the geological exploration programme on ferrous and non-ferrous deposits in the country in accordance with the relevant Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr Ilham Aliyev. The joint program with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources covers an area of 15.409 square kilometres. However, the research area of AzerGold CJSC covers 6080 km2:

• South-western part of Ganja-Dashkasan economic region;

• Northern part of the Eastern Zangazur economic region;

• North-western part of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan.

The programme applies the most modern approaches – hyperspectral and aeroelectromagnetic researches. These research methods enable prompt detection of prospective areas, saving on expensive drilling process and investigating by precise coordinates covering a smaller area. The programme is to be concluded by the end of 2026 with preliminary technical and economical calculations. The received geological data at the end of the research will allow to attract local and foreign investors to new mining projects.
