Seminar on non-metallic mineral deposits by AzerGold

AzerGold CJSC hosted a seminar on improving management of non-metallic mineral deposits utilization in Azerbaijan with the participation of relevant state agencies and business entities.

The seminar, organized in accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr Ilham Aliyev, dated 23 December 2024, on improving management of non-metallic mineral deposits utilization, announced the preliminary results of analyses conducted within a month for studying the current situation in this sphere.

AzerGold CJSC involved the world-famous company – Boston Consulting Group, in the process and the report prepared by this consulting company covered the current situation and prospects in non-metallic mineral deposits utilization, improvement of management based on progressive international practices and standards, environmental norms and requirements, and problems faced by the participants of the market.

The seminar was followed by speeches, a wide exchange of views on the topic, proposals of entrepreneurs, and Q&A session. It was emphasized that meetings with specialized market participants in the exploitation of non-metallic mineral deposits would be continued, and the proposals considered.

According to the Order signed by President Ilham Aliyev, AzerGold CJSC is assigned to analyze the current situation in the exploitation of non-metallic mineral deposits by involving reputable international consulting companies, study the relevant market, and based on the conducted analyses results, prepare proposals on improving management in this sphere within four months and submit them to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In addition, AzerGold considering the international standards must prepare proposals for improving local standards and submit them to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan within six months, and take necessary measures to resolve other issues arising from this Order.
