AzerGold CJSC received the Best Partner of the Year 2024 award in the environmental field

AzerGold CJSC was awarded the Best Partner in Environmental Projects within Corporate Social Responsibility by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2024.

The award was presented by Mukhtar Babayev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, to Khayyam Farzaliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of AzerGold CJSC, Chairman of the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee.

The Company received this award for its contributions to environmental protection through the Reintroduction of Rare Plants Growing in Dashkasan Region and Temiz Dashkasan projects implemented in 2024.

Other business entities, organizations and non-governmental companies, which support environmental protection, health and environmental education were also awarded in various nominations.

AzerGold CJSC is focused on the principles of environmental protection and social responsibility in the regions it operates. In 2024 – Green World Solidarity Year, the Company continued its projects on environmental protection in the Dashkasan region, where it operates regularly.

Thus, the recultivation and reintroduction of rare, endangered plant species included in the Red Book of the Republic of Azerbaijan was completed around the Chovdar gold mine in 2024 within the Reintroduction of Rare Plants Growing in Dashkasan Region, started in 2021.

About 10 hectares of land was cleaned of plastic, polyethylene, metal, glass, paper, cardboard and other waste, and new waste containers and trash cans were placed on various streets of Dashkasan city within the Temiz Dashkasan environmental project (the word “Temiz” is translated from Azerbaijani into English as clean, pure).

Furthermore, many trees and bushes were planted, eco-friendly bird feeders were installed in the forest area around the Chovdar gold mine to protect birds and supply their needs during cold winter months.
