AzerGold CJSC Held an Interactive Event Dedicated to the World Civil Defense Day

On March 1, 2024, an informative event on Innovative Civil Defense Technologies, dedicated to March 1 – the World Civil Defense Day, was held at the Chovdar Integrated Regional Processing Area (CIRPA) of AzerGold Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC).

The event, arranged to raise awareness in the field of planning and timely and qualitatively implementing civil defense measures, passed in an interactive format and comprised theoretical and practical parts.

The 1st part of the event, arranged via video link, was attended by the Chairman of the Board of AzerGold CJSC, Zakir Ibrahimov, and representatives of Dashkasan Executive Power, Ganja Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ganja Regional State Fire Control Department of the State Fire Protection Service, Dashkasan State Fire Protection Section of the State Fire Protection Service, Dashkasan Branch of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society, local executives, and municipality.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Board Z. Ibrahimov noted that AzerGold CJSC under the leadership of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues to implement its activity in the fields of sustainable and dynamic development of mining and the progress of the non-oil and gas sector in general according to the state economic policy. In its activity, the Joint-Stock Company also complies with the OHSE standards and principles, guided by appropriate recommendations and instructions of the country's government, the requirements of national and international laws, and the international conventions to which Azerbaijan is a member, in the field of OHSE. In this regard, Z. Ibrahimov regarded the namechecking of AzerGold CJSC by the head of state as one of the exemplary companies operating in our country as the highest merit of the Joint-Stock Company’s activity. The Chairman of the Board stressed that they are constantly working to justify the trust shown by the country's leadership, and the Joint-Stock Company feels great responsibility resting with it.

Z. İbrahimov said that the Joint-Stock Company continues implementing consistent and systematic measures by formulating its internal policies in environmental protection, healthcare, occupational safety, social impact and responsibility, and other fields, and pays special attention to the development of digital solutions and innovation ecosystems in mining. In this regard, noting that the arrangement of civil defense is of great importance for the Joint-Stock Company, the Chairman of the Board stressed that as a result of the systematic work performed over the past period in the said field, no injuries took place in the course of the production activity, and the number of working hours without injuries in the Joint Stock Company and its subsidiaries has exceeded 5.8 million in total. The Chairman of the Board believes that the regular arrangement of interactive events in the field of civil defense is important in terms of further increasing the awareness of employees in their workplaces, strengthening existing knowledge with repeated practical training, and reducing risks in the field of civil defense.

In the second part of the event, the civil defense, fire protection, and other technical safety means used to ensure the CIRPA staff’s safety were demonstrated, and as part of the training meeting, training was held on technical safety rules in the field of fire and emergency rescue operations, and a simulation of the fire extinguishing the evacuation process was arranged.

The representatives of appropriate institutions and organizations, attending the event, paid attention to civil defense arranged by the CJSC in compliance with modern requirements and positively assessed the measures to ensure employees with safe working conditions and prevent emergencies.
