Meeting with local residents of Dashkasan

Corporate Social Responsibility Committee (CSR) of AzerGold Closed Joint Stock Company (CJSC), arranged a meeting with local residents in Dashkasan.

Khayyam Farzaliyev, Chairman of the Committee, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of AzerGold CJSC, spoke at the meeting held in the administrative building of AzerGold’s subsidiary company "Dashkasan Iron Ore" Limited Liability Company ("DDF" LLC) and provided extensive information about the works and innovations carried out in the social field. The impacts of the Company's activities in the socio-economic development of the region were discussed at the event, which was held with the view to determine the social needs of people living in Dashkasan city, as well as with the surrounding villages and towns. It was mentioned that "Dashkasan Iron Ore" LLC has employed 198 people, i.e 73% of the staff are local residents. It was also added that the number of new and full-time jobs in the region will be further increased after the iron ore field enters into the active operation phase.

The participants were enlightened about the ongoing projects within the framework of work with the local population and communities. It was reported that the residents settled near the production areas benefit from the projects implemented regularly towards environmental protection, education, health, employment, promotion of entrepreneurship, etc. Such projects, which serve to provide care for the residents, especially families belonging to the socially vulnerable population group, aim to contribute to social public programs.

The meeting participants were informed about the construction of a new water line to Madanchi and Yukhari Dashkasan settlements of the region. It was noted that 340 subscribers will be provided with centralized potable water line in the coming days. The project, which is being implemented with the support of AzerGold CJSC, aims to improve the supply of quality water to the population.

Later, the appeals of the residents were heard and participants exchanged opinions regarding new initiatives. The Chairman of the Committee gave instructions and recommendations regarding appropriate steps, investigation and solution of the issues raised by citizens within the existing legislation.

Notably, within the framework of initiatives and projects aimed at target groups, the Company will continue traditional meetings and surveys with villagers.
