AzerGold unveils new modular school in Dashkasan with the initiative of Haydar Aliyev Foundation

Within the framework of another large-scale project implemented jointly by Haydar Aliyev Foundation and AzerGold Closed Joint Stock Company under corporate social responsibility policy, new modular building of the secondary school named after Salmikhan Isgandarov was launched adjacent to Chovdar mine, Gushchu settlement of Dashkasan district.    

Ahad Abiyev, Head of Dashkasan District Executive Power, Ogtay Mammadov, Deputy chairman of AzerGold’s Executive Board, Shamil Azizov, representative from Haydar Aliyev Foundation, Elmir Jafarov, director of Ganja-Dashkasan Regional Education Department, Elmira Jalilova, the head mistress, and PR representatives joined the event.

On the occasion of start of 2022-2023 new academic year, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.  Later the dear memory of the martyrs who lost their lives on September 13-14 during military provocations was commemorated with a minute's silence.

Ahad Abiyev, the head of Dashkasan District Executive Power, who made a speech, pointed out good conditions created for teachers for the training process in the new school building, and as well as for the students to get high-level education. Ahad Abiyev recommended that teenagers and young people, who are our future, take maximum advantage of these opportunities created for them, grow up as worthy citizens and qualified personnel, and asked them to mobilize their efforts, do their best for the continuous success of our country in all fields in the future.

Next, Ogtay Mammadov took the floor saying that the newly commissioned school building meets modern educational standards. Deputy Chairman added that the National Education Policy, which was founded by the great leader Heydar Aliyev, is successfully being continued today by Mr. President Ilham Aliyev. Thus, viable  reforms in the field of education implemented recent years are clear manifestation of this fact. It is worth noting that several new school buildings and other educational facilities have been constructed and launched in the capital Baku and regions. On behalf of the Company, Ogtay Mammadov thanked the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for its initiative and support for the construction of the modular school building and the implementation of numerous social projects.

Highlighting the contribution of Heydar Aliyev Foundation towards the implementation of the conceptual education strategy in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Shamil Azizov mentioned the projects related construction and rehabilitation of new schools, strengthening the material and technical base, and their provision with necessary equipment. Besides, he pointed out intensive activities which are underway in this field.

Elmir Jafarov, head of the education sector of Ganja-Dashkasan Regional Education Department for Dashkasan district, acknowledged that the conditions created in the new school building will contribute to the improvement of the quality of education.

Appreciating the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and "AzerGold" CJSC for the initiative and support, the headmistress Elmira Jalilova pointed out that the students would effectively benefit all opportunities to gain knowledge at a high level in the school, which is provided with all kinds of inventory and equipment.

Speaking at the end, Bahlul Iskenderov said that the launch of the new modular school named after his brother, martyr Salmikhan Iskenderov, is a great contribution to the development of education, as well as an expression of respect and reverence for his brother's spirit.

Later, the guests got acquainted with the school building and watched the training process held in the classrooms on the first day of education. It was noted that the new school building with a capacity of 80 students is located in the Gushchu settlement and has 10 classrooms, 1 teacher's room, 1 library and WC. 55 students will continue their education in the school equipped with all the necessary equipment for the educational process, internet network, computer, furniture and other inventory.

Notably, "AzerGold" CJSC regularly implements social projects in the settlements and villages located adjacent to Chovdar gold mine, where active mining work is carried out. A number of projects are being implemented in the fields of environmental protection, education, health, etc. with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
