AzerGold Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) and the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population have started implementing the project ‘Expanding Employment of Women in the Dashkasan Region.’

The project is aimed at increasing the competitiveness of women living in the villages near the CJSC’s Chovdar gold mine, mastering new professions, the employment of low-income housewives, and developing micro businesses.

For this purpose, in the training arranged by experts from AzerGold CJSC and the State Employment Agency, women were provided with detailed information on the current labor market demands, the registration procedure in employment centers, available vacancies, conditions for admission to vocational training institutions, and the self-employment program. Training participants were also trained in career planning, discovering potential, marketing research, building an action plan, job search tools, and preparing for an interview.

The training participants got answers to many questions, were familiarized in detail with the electronic recruitment system of AzerGold CJSC and the recruitment of candidates for vacancies through the examination, as well as received necessary advice on the opportunities of using the services provided by the State Employment Agency, and how women can benefit from these services.

At the next project stage, the State Employment Agency plans to take the necessary steps to involve women with acceptable knowledge and skills in professional activity and the self-employment program with the support of AzerGold CJSC.

It should be noted that 2 of the women who attended the training as part of the project implemented since 2023 and officially applied to the State Employment Agency were provided with jobs in appropriate professions, 1 woman was employed, and 1 was placed on the waiting list. 3 women were provided with assets under the livestock envelope of the self-employment program, 3 more were recruited, and 1 woman was sent to vocational training.
