Chairman of the CSR Committee of AzerGold CJSC met with residents in Nakhchivan

Khayyam Farzaliyev, Chairman of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee, member of the Executive Board – Deputy Chairman of AzerGold CJSC met with residents in Julfa, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The meeting was organized in the village of Khanegah. This village is located near the Ortakend gold deposit, Goydagh copper-porphyry and Bashkend copper fields, where AzerGold CJSC conducts intensive research.
It was the first meeting with the residents of this village and the main purpose was acquaintance with the citizens living around the operation zone, inform them about the preliminary exploitation work, identify the social needs of local communities and include them in the social action plan of the next year.
The Ortakend deposit, which has been geologically researched by AzerGold CJSC since 2018, is the first gold deposit in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic to be prepared for exploitation, said Khayyam Farzaliyev. The Chairman of the CSR Committee informed the villagers about the extraction methods of precious metals, optimal processing technology to be applied in the territory. Mr Farzaliyev noted that commissioning of the Ortakend gold deposit in the coming years and other fields which are currently being geologically researched, are aimed to make additional contributions to the socio-economic development of our country, especially the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, to increase employment level in the region, and boost well-being of the population.
During the meeting, the residents received detailed information about different projects of AzerGold within its social responsibility principles while operating, and their appeals on social needs and initiatives were accepted and registered.
This visit also covered meetings at local executive branches in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and the planned projects by AzerGold CJSC in the region were discussed.
The CSR Committee will regularly organize such meetings with residents in the regions where AzerGold CJSC operates.
